Rockets 89, Grizzlies 81
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Tracy McGrady scored 30 points and had nine assists, leading Houston. Jim Jackson scored 14 points, and Juwan Howard had 11 points for the Rockets, who avoided becoming the sixth team in club history to start 0-3 despite being in foul trouble all night. Houston played its third straight on the road and is in the midst of a four game in five night stretch.
Magic 90, Hornets 89
NEW ORLEANS -- Steve Francis made his second game-winning shot of the season, soaring into the lane to put back Pat Garrity's missed 3-pointer with 2.7 seconds left and lifting Orlando over New Orleans. Baron Davis, whose 36 points kept the Hornets (0-2) in the game, had the ball in his hands along the baseline as the last seconds ticked away. He made a no-look pass into the paint, but Jamaal Magloire bobbled it and had to rush a shot that was blocked by former Hornets player Stacy Augmon.
Nets 111, Bulls 106, 2OT
CHICAGO -- Alonzo Mourning was his dominant old self in his second game since having a kidney transplant 11 months ago, making back-to-back layups in the second overtime to lead New Jersey. Mourning scored 17 points on 5-of-5 shooting and five rebounds in 26 minutes. Richard Jefferson had 26 points and a career-high 21 rebounds for the Nets, who won despite blowing a 27-point lead.
Jazz 102, Warriors 80
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Keith McLeod had 17 points and 10 assists, and Carlos Boozer added 16 points and nine rebounds for Utah. Andrei Kirilenko scored 14 points for the Jazz, who never trailed in their second superb performance of the young season. Utah shot nearly 59 percent, played solid defense and made a prolonged run in the second half to blow it open.
