Trumbull abatement OK'dfor new plant in Braceville
WARREN -- Trumbull County commissioners approved a 10-year, 60 percent tax break for U.S. Safety Gear's planned plant on state Route 5 in Braceville.
The company, which distributes and personalizes work clothes, gear and other products plans to invest between $2.3 million and $4 million in the new plant and hire eight new full-time and two part-time employees, general manager John Conley said. It now employs 29 full-time, eight part-time and two temporary employees.
The company has outgrown its space on West Main Street in Leavittsburg and wanted to escape the odor from the nearby Warren Hills landfill, he said. Stench from the landfill has contributed to sickness and absenteeism among employees, Conley said.
