Notebook: Girard, coached by Phil Walters, qualified for its fourth straight regional tournament. The Indians defeated LaBrae 25-15, 25-15, 25-20 for the district championship. Leading the way was Erin Stevens, Elise Roscoe and Brittany Kay. Girard also defeated Badger, Ursuline and Brookfield. Crestview, coached by Alisha Auer, advanced into the regional by defeating rival Columbiana 23-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-20. Junior Kristen Harroff had a big match for the Rebels, collecting 14 kills, 11 points, six digs, four blocks and an ace. Tricia Richards, Michelle Parks and Elyse Mongillo also had strong performances for the Tri-County League champion. The Rebels also defeated South Range and Springfield in the district tournament. Orrville, in the other semifinal, is the defending state champion.
