Kennedy sets placement,scholarship examination
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Kennedy Catholic High School will administer a scholarship and placement examination for all current eighth-graders who are interested in enrolling for the 2005-06 school year.
The preregistration examination is used for course scheduling and to determine special incentive scholarships.
The test is scheduled for Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the high school, 2120 Freeway. Kennedy Catholic High School is located on U.S. Route 62 in Hermitage.
Parents of prospective pupils wishing to make test reservations or who need additional information should contact the admissions office by calling (724) 346-5531.
Public indecency charge
YOUNGSTOWN -- City police cited a man Tuesday for public indecency after they said they found him wearing no pants while mowing the front lawn of a house in the 1800 block of Bears Den Road shortly before noon.
Cited with a summons to appear in municipal court at 10 a.m. today was Rudolph P. Dettmer, 59, of Silica Road, North Jackson, who police said they saw wearing glasses and a gray flannel shirt, but exposing his bare buttocks in plain public view.
Police said they yelled to Dettmer, who went into a fenced-in area of the yard and returned wearing pants, buckling them up and pulling up the zipper, but wearing no shirt.
Police said Dettmer was uncooperative and argumentative when they asked him why he was cutting the grass with no pants on.
Trial set on chargesof DUI and hit-skip
STRUTHERS -- Judge James R. Lanzo set a trial date of Jan. 19, 2005, for Danielle J. Carnessali, 42, of 3200 Canfield Road, Youngstown.
Carnessali is charged with driving under the influence, driving under suspension and hit-skip stemming from an accident three years ago.
According to police reports, Carnessali crashed a 1990 Ford U-Haul truck into a pole along Elm Street in October 2001 and then fled the scene. Police arrested Carnessali shortly thereafter in the driveway of an Elm Street home.
She was arraigned in municipal court Friday after turning herself in on a warrant for failure to appear on the above charges.
Unauthorized transactions
STRUTHERS -- Police are investigating the unauthorized use of a city woman's name and Social Security number to open an SBC home telephone account in Detroit and to obtain four cell phones from Cellular One, also in Detroit.
The 37-year-old victim told police she learned about the unauthorized accounts after both companies notified her about the transactions.
Celebration banquet set
YOUNGSTOWN -- Lost Then Found Ministries will have its annual Celebration banquet at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Fairview Arts and Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road. A concert will follow dinner.
Primarily a music ministry, Lost Then Found has teamed with The Salvation Army, Jericho Project, Warren Family Mission and Top Hat Productions to provide outreach in the local community and abroad.
