Sectional furniture offers flexibility and many choices
KNIGHT RIDDER NEWSPAPERS
The sofa you count on for comfort when you're reading or napping is, well, going to pieces.
Forget about the new big couch that your movers can't get into the elevator or through the front door. Retailers are offering a wide range of sectional furniture, The Wall Street Journal says. Some come in a series of puzzlelike pieces you can put together and take apart like Legos.
The reason, in part, is that consumers demand more from a couch, the WSJ says. Sure, they want comfort and cool looks to impress their friends. They also want furniture that is flexible enough to use in a variety of rooms. Many people are, in fact, upgrading electronic equipment and want sofas on which to enjoy the entertainment.
