The defending Stanley Cup champions were due to return to Long Island, where they posted consecutive shutouts in Games 3 and 4 of their first-round playoff series last season. After splitting the first two games of the series, the Lightning won three straight to eliminate the Islanders.Ice chip: The first four games of the Tampa Bay-New York series were decided by 3-0 scores. It was the first time since 2002 that a series began with four shutouts (Ottawa-Philadelphia).
