The Cardinals are in their fourth straight regional under coach Lenny Krispinsky, who has 142 career wins. Senior All-American forward Kiki Willis makes things go with 47 goals on the season and an all-time Ohio best 163 in his career. Sophomore Dom DiPasquale has 11 goals and 10 assists, while junior Zack Hernan has 11 goals and eight assists. Mooney, the 2002 Div. II state champs, features senior goalie Jeff Seddon with 11 shutouts. Junior Kevin Miller holds the defense together and sophomore midfielder Aleko Frangopoulos is a versatile player. Marlington defeated Canton Central Catholic 3-2 in their district championship game to reach the regional level for the first time. Junior B.J. Goodwin leads the Dukes in goals this season with 22.

Game time: 7 p.m. TuesdayWhere: Medina HighOther semifinal: Cuyahoga Falls CVCA (15-2-1) vs. Willoughby Cornerstone Christian (14-3-2)Championship: 7 p.m. Saturday at Ravenna HighNotebook: The Golden Flashes, coached by Nate Mailach, are in their second straight regional after defeating Ursuline in a shootout for the district championship. Junior Tyler LeMon made the winning penalty kick in the shootout. Champion also defeated Mathews (9-0) and Bristol (2-0). Leading the Flashes' attack is senior forward John Emery, the school's all-time leading scorer, with 55 goals this season and 99 for his career. Senior captain Chris Palm (17 goals) is another threat for the Golden Flashes. Junior Max Brugler leads the team in assists with a school-record 38. He also assists the offense with long throw-ins. Junior Rich Slama is the team's goalkeeper. Wellington also advanced with a shootout victory, over Elyria Catholic.
GIRLSDIVISION IIPOLAND (14-4-1)vs. HATHAWAY BROWN (15-2-2)
Game time: 7 p.m. WednesdayWhere: Ravenna HighOther semifinal: Chagrin Falls (15-1-3) vs. Bay (12-7-1)Championship: 3 p.m. Saturday at Medina HighNotebook: Poland is in the regional for the seventh time in 11 seasons. Coach Jim Sutman has nine seniors on the roster, keyed by forward Colleen Moran (10 goals), who will run in her second straight state cross country meet this weekend. Senior midfielder Laura Hassay has 10 assists for the Bulldogs. Junior forward Sarah Anderson is the top scorer with 14 goals. Sophomore goalie Samantha Stanich posted six shutouts. Poland beat Mooney 2-1 in a shootout for the district tournament title. Junior Ashley Luthern scored the winning goal in the shootout -- the first in Poland history.
