New signings: "As the World Turns" has snapped up Sarah Brown for a newly created role. Brown, a three-time Emmy winner, is well-known to "General Hospital" viewers for her five years as Carly. Next month, Brown also begins filming an independent movie, tentatively titled "The Best Revenge," with Matt Letscher.
"ATWT" has cast McKenzie Satterthwaite in the role of Nikki Munson. The character, previously played by Jordana Brewster, went off to college in 1998. Satterthwaite is scheduled to debut in late June. Meanwhile, "As the World Turns" will have to recast its front-and-center role of Molly, because actress Lesli Kay is moving to "General Hospital." Kay began playing Molly in 1997, winning the Emmy in 2001.
Rumor confirmed: The rumor mill got it right, as Gina Tognoni will join the cast of "Guiding Light" this summer in the role of Dinah Marler. Tognoni played Kelly Cramer on "One Life to Live" from 1995 until 2001, and again in 2002, but opted not to resume that part when it again became available last year. Dinah, who had been played by Wendy Moniz, left Springfield in early 1999.
On to third: Hopefully, third time will be the charm in the quest at "Young and Restless" to find the right Daniel. Michael Graziadei, who joined the show earlier this month, is the third actor in three months to be cast as Danny and Phyllis' son.
Visitor to show: "Passions" gets a visit Thursday by Telemundo star Rebeca Ramba, host of a daily magazine talk show on the Spanish-language channel. She'll portray Pilar Ybarra.
