Wharmby deals Livi first loss



The Astro Falcons handed Line Drive its first defeat.
STRUTHERS -- Wharmby Sports scored eight times in the first inning as it handed Livi Steel its first loss of the season, 13-0, Saturday in the Class B League at Cene Park.
J.C. McCoy had three hits, including a double with two runs batted in for the winners (2-1). Joe Onufrak and John Warren added two hits apiece.
Mike Holmes scattered seven hits for the win, allowing three runs. He had three strikeouts.
Astro Falcons 10, Line Drive 0
Astro Falcons used a pair of five run innings to remain undefeated at 3-0, and hand Line Drive (2-1) its first loss.
Jared Bartholomew had a triple and single, while Bill Christian added two hits for the winners who took advantage of six walks and three hit batsmen by Line Drive pitching.
Joe Irwin also had two hits and drove in three runs for Astros. Robert Shannon pitched the complete game shutout with six strikeouts.
Rondinelli 8, Propane 0
Rondinelli (2-1) scored five times in the second inning and added three more in the sixth.
Scott Adams allowed just two hits in six innings of work, as he struck out seven. Kevin Drummond had two hits, one a double, while Phil Williamson, Cameron Dimino and Andy Wilmouth had two hits apiece for the winners.
Mink 2, Youngstown Express 0
In a pitchers duel Matt Weimer of Mink (2-1) bested Bill James of the Express (0-3).
Weimer had a perfect game for the first 52/3 innings before a single by Pat Smith. He finished with a two-hitter, with eight strikeouts. James allowed just two runs and six hits.
Chris Pechalk had a sacrifice fly to drive in the first run, while Kevin Lee drove home the other with a single.
Dave Sugar 6, Roth Brothers 1
A six-run second inning and a complete game six- hitter by Travis Boyle lifted Dave Sugar to its first win in three games.
Boyle also struck out 13 and the only run he allowed was unearned. Dan DeLuca had a single and a triple for the winners.
Ben Mackell and Ryan Foust had two hits each for Roth Brothers (0-3).
