New fitness center-- for men only
BOARDMAN -- The Blitz, a men-only franchised fitness center, is to open June 14 in the Flamingo Plaza, 7807 Market St. The center is owned by Dr. John Catlin, a New York dentist.
The Blitz provides a 20-minute workout with circuit training. Men spend 30 seconds at workout stations, which include hydraulic resistance machines and heavy bags that are used in boxing.
The Blitz is based in Gardner, Kan., and has 55 franchised locations in the United States and Canada.
Clothing store opens
NILES -- Forever 21, a women's clothing store, has opened in the Eastwood Mall.
The chain, which has 170 stores in the United States, bills itself as providing trendy fashions at affordable prices, with new merchandise arriving daily.
Copeland Oaks board
SEBRING -- Copeland Oaks retirement community has elected these board members to three-year terms: Carolyn Jones, vice president of Gordon Brothers in Salem; Jack Russell, owner of Canteen Service of Steel Valley in Boardman; and Larry Smerglia, first vice president of Merrill Lynch in Canton.
Officers elected were: Judge James Williams, president; Cheryl Kelly, vice president; John Scarpetti, secretary; and Bill Williams, treasurer.
Elected as officers of the Crandall Medical Center were: Bill Williams, president; Leland VanCamp, vice president; Ernest Sheetz, secretary; and Paul Bailey, treasurer.
Inventors association
LIBERTY -- The Youngstown & amp; Warren Inventors Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Liberty Township administration building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.
Vic Rubenstein, vice president of Rubenstein Associates of Liberty, will speak on national marketing and distribution.
The public is welcome for free.
Pipeline safety
SEBRING -- The Pipeline Group is offering a free pipeline safety seminar for contractors, excavators, public officials and emergency response workers at 5:30 p.m. June 17 at the Talloaks Banquet Center, 230 S. 12th St.
Included is dinner, an opportunity to speak with representatives from pipeline companies and information on risk assessments, emergency procedures and other information.
