Afternoons are dedicated to daily field trips into the community to encourage appropriate social skills. Golden String also works with the downtown YMCA to offer campers a weekly swim session. Participants also make pottery and paintings and explore neighborhoods along with making new friends.
UCommunity Arts Training Program organizes social activities for participants such as bowling, going to the movies, out to dinner or the theater; provides culinary training for self-help skills; initiates peer mentoring (how to be a friend and how to act in a group); and teaches arts enrichment.
