Ellis' pitching is Astros' big weapon

STRUTHERS -- Mike Ellis pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Astro Falcons defeated Dave Sugar Excavating 5-1 in Class B action Friday at Cene Park.
The only run Ellis allowed was unearned. He walked two.
Brett Pitzulo had a double and a single, while Adam Wigley added two hits for the Falcons (2-0). Brandon Skoff had three RBIs.
For Dave Sugar (0-2), Drew Hazel pitched a complete game nine-hitter. He walked four and struck out two. Joel Lariccia had an RBI single for the losers.
Wharmby's Sports 3, Mink Financial 2
Jesse Alfreno hit a two-out run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to lift Wharmby (1-1) to the win.
Alfreno and Kyle Milbert had two hits for the winners; one of Milbert's hits was a double. Andy Chrobak pitched a complete game five-hitter, with seven strikeouts.
Chris Peckalk went the distance for Mink (1-1). He allowed three runs on eight hits with nine strikeouts.
Youngstown Propane 1, Roth Brothers 0
Mike Evans bested Luke Summer in a pitchers' duel as Youngstown Propane (1-1) scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Evans allowed just six hits and struck out 10 for the win. Summer took the loss for Roth (0-2) as he allowed just five hits. He walked one and struck out three.
Rob Sullivan had two singles for the losers. Justin Herberger drove in the only run of the game with a sacrifice fly.
Livi Steel 8, Rondinelli Tuxedo 1
Livi Steel managed just five hits, but two were off the bat of Steve Orlosky, who had five RBIs as Livi won for the second straight night.
One of Orlosky's hits was a triple in the first with the bases loaded. Tim Clayton had two hits for Rondinelli (1-1), while Justin Byler had a double for Livi.
Shawn Carr went the distance, allowing just four hits. He had five strikeouts and did not walk a batter. Bill Corleer suffered the loss as he went the first six innings. He struck out five but walked six.
Line Drive Academy 18, Youngstown Express 8
Line Drive Academy (2-0) scored 13 runs in the fifth inning to rally from a 7-3 deficit.
Nate Tacsik had a lead-off home run and Matt Madrid hit an inside-the-park home run for the winners. Luke Kershner got the win in relief. Adam Boris added three hits, one a triple.
For the Express (0-2), Jacob Wycoff, Steve Stenglein and Joey D'Amato had two hits; one of D'Amato's was a triple.
