Blue Jays 6, Angels 5, 10 innings
TORONTO -- Chris Gomez scored the winning run in the 10th inning when nobody covered the plate during a rundown. Gomez got caught in a rundown between third and home on Simon Pond's two-out infield single, but he slid in safely when the Angels failed to cover the plate. Pond was credited with an RBI. Jason Frasor (2-1) pitched two scoreless innings for the win, helping the Blue Jays end a four-game skid. Vladimir Guerrero, Jose Guillen and Jeff DaVanon hit consecutive homers for the Angels. Toronto starter Justin Miller tied a club record by hitting three batters. Blue Jays first baseman Carlos Delgado left after the third inning with a jammed right knee.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Marlins 13, Diamondbacks 5
MIAMI -- Juan Pierre drove in four runs and Ramon Castro broke out of a season-long slump with three RBIs. Jeff Conine homered and Carl Pavano (4-2) pitched seven solid innings for the Marlins. Steve Finley hit his major league-leading 14th homer for the Diamondbacks.
Reds 7, Astros 5
CINCINNATI -- Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 491st homer, and Austin Kearns had a tie-breaking, three-run shot in the eighth, powering Cincinnati to a four-game sweep. Griffey hit his second homer in two games, a solo shot that tied him with Fred McGriff for 21st place on the career list. He also had a two-run double that smacked off the left-field wall. Sean Casey also homered for the second straight game and had a pair of hits, raising his NL-best batting average to .385.
Braves 5, Expos 0
MONTREAL -- Andruw Jones homered twice in support of John Thomson. J.D. Drew also homered for the Braves, who have won four of five. Thomson (3-2) scattered eight hits through seven innings.
