Antioch Baptist Church, 110 Funston St., Youngstown, will celebrate its Annual Men and Women's day at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The speaker will be evangelist Lynn Phillips of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church.
New Vision Baptist Church, 505 W. Boston Ave., Youngstown, presents "Women of Doctrine" at 4 p.m. Sunday. The speakers will be Carol Fuzell of Mt. Moriah Fire Baptized Church, whose topic is "Faith," and the Rev. Sylvia Jennings of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, whose topic is "Meekness." ARTS
Soul Purpose, a family quartet, will perform at Christ Church, 7158 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, at 6 p.m. Sunday. An offering will be taken.
The Kings from Hocking County will be featured at Mt. Calvary Community Church, 1993 Waterford Road, East Palestine, at 6 p.m. Sunday. The group performs southern and country gospel harmonies and bluegrass gospel music. An offering will be taken.
Malone College in Canton's Chancel Players, Malone's student drama outreach group, is scheduling events for its 2004-2005 season. The group consists of six students who perform drama with religious content in schools and churches. One of the members of the group is Jeremy Lewis, a communication arts/theatre major from Lisbon. AWARDS
St. Mary and St. Frances Cabrini parishes in Conneaut honored Mary Joan Wassie on May 8 with the Pius X Award for 25 years of service as a volunteer parish educator. Wassie has taught fifth grade Confraternity of Christian Doctrine classes for over 25 years and still serves as a teacher. She is also active in youth ministry, the parish ladies guilds, and Catholic Charities of Ashtabula County. Parishes bestow the award to thank their educators.
