XYOUNGSTOWN -- St. Columba Cathedral was the setting May 1 for the wedding of Sarah Elizabeth Holokai and Stephen Thomas Hierro Jr., both of 12761 Walnut Hill Drive, North Royalton.
The couple exchanged nuptial vows during a noon ceremony officiated by Monsignor Lawrence Fye. After a reception at The Georgetown in Boardman, they left on a wedding tip to Hawaii. They live in North Royalton.
The bride's parents are Walter and Debi Holokai, 97 Wilda Ave., Boardman, and Mark and Mary Jane McCann, 158 Helena St., Struthers. Parents of the groom are Stephen and Rose Hierro, 1742 Palo Verde Drive, Boardman.
The bride's strapless ivory satin A-line gown was designed with a split overskirt and enhanced with rum pink embroidery.
Lilac gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Nicole Clementi, and the bridesmaids, Cristin Vimmerstedt; Katherine Long; Stephanie Hierro, the groom's sister; Lisa Droege; and Loryn Holokai, a sister of the bride. Her cousin, Grace Kane, was flower girl.
Ryan Plocinik served as best man, and groomsmen were William Spencer; Bradley Ebel; Anthony DePinto, the groom's cousin; Michael Holokai, a brother of the bride; and Ethan Kane, her cousin.
The bride holds a degree in deaf education from Kent State University and is a teacher with Lakewood City Schools.
The groom, an analyst with Predict in Cleveland, graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa.
