KEYSTONE CLIPS A video view of state highways
Motorists planning to travel through or vacation in Pennsylvania this summer might first want to look at a video inventory of state roads.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation offers the view of state highways through a new feature on its Internet site at www.dot.state.pa.us.
The VideoLog offers a detailed view of nearly all 40,000 miles of the state's highway system through video footage.
Site visitors can select a road to view by place name, ZIP code, municipality or route number. If a road spans the entire state, such as Interstate 80, it is possible to view footage the entire way through the state.
State Rep. Rod Wilt of Greenville, R-17th, said visitors to the Web site must use Microsoft Internet Explorer to view it, because the site doesn't work with Netscape or other browsers.
New site for English
U.S. Rep. Phil English of Erie, R-3rd, has launched what he calls a new user-friendly official Web site.
In announcing the site at www.house.gov/english, the representative said it is important that constituents have easy access to information about their representative in Washington and what is being done on their behalf.
Constituents can directly e-mail English through the site, track federal legislation and examine various federal programs, including Medicare.
Kennywood ticket discount
The American Lung Association of Pennsylvania has a limited number of discounted admission tickets to Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh.
The discounted tickets are redeemable only on weekdays during July and August and are $16 each.
That is almost $13 off the regular ticket price.
Groups of six or more can buy tickets for $15 each by calling the American Lung Association of Pennsylvania at (724) 933-6180.
