CLUBS
XYoungstown South Christian Women's Club will present "The Joy of Summer" from noon to 1:45 p.m. June 10 at Antone's Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St., Boardman. The program will feature Brian Palumbo, owner of Selah in Poland; Linda Pantalone, soloist; and Marci McCombs, a former art teacher who paints humorous stories. XThe Ohio Cultural Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. June 7 at St. Matthias Church hall, corner of Cornell Avenue and Shady Run Road. The topic will be "The Immigrant Experience: From the Czech Republic/Slovakia to the Mahoning Valley." The speaker will be Michael Kurilla, who has bachelor's and master's degrees in history from Youngstown State University and is of Slovak descent. Cultural enrichment will be provided by John Wilcox, a professor at Dana School of Music at YSU, accompanied by his daughter. An ethnic meal will be served. XPoland Women's Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. June 7 at the home of Beth Lowe for a walk-about and silent auction. Reservations are required by June 3 with Leslie Williams. Auction items should be delivered to the Lowe home by June 5.
SERVICE
XDowntown Youngstown Kiwanis will meet at noon Friday at the YMCA. Guest speaker will be Pat Rose of the Better Business Bureau.
SINGLES
XMembers of Catholic Singles Adult Club of Youngstown will play miniature golf at 1 p.m. June 6 at Putt-Putt, 3937 Youngstown Road, Warren, and have dinner afterward. June 5 is the reservation deadline. The group will hold a picnic from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 27 at Boardman Community Center in Boardman Township Park. The meal will be a noon. XOriginal Christian Singles will meet at 6 p.m. June 7 at Glenwood Methodist Church in Boardman. Music guest will be George Kunce with his accordion. The group will provide ice cream, and those attending are to take toppings and cookies. The group is open to all single, widowed or divorced persons 35 and over. XHammond Organ Society will celebrate its 46th anniversary by holding a casserole dinner at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Faith Community church, 1919 E.
