DEA awards
Greg White, U.S. attorney based in Cleveland, Anthony Marotta, assistant Drug Enforcement Administration agent in charge in Cleveland, and Douglas Lamplugh, DEA resident agent in Youngstown, announced the distribution of drug-related assets seized by the DEA after an awards ceremony for the Mahoning Valley Chiefs of Police Association.
HISTORY
The money represents assets seized by the DEA task force from 2001 through 2003 in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. The Federal Asset Forfeiture Program allows various federal agencies to seize drug-related assets and share the proceeds with law enforcement agencies that participated in the investigations.

Poland Police Department: $49,135.
Beaver Township Police Department: $54,917.

Canfield Police Department: $15,763.
Youngstown Police Department: $20,751.
Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation: $55,216.
IRS Criminal Investigation Division: $82,630.
