CANFIELD -- A husband-and-wife art show by Dr. Frank and Mary Kay D'Isa of Boardman is on display through June 8 at Old North Church, 7105 Herbert Road. His photographs and her watercolor paintings can be viewed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and from 9 a.m. to noon Sundays.
Guitarist taps inspiration
YOUNGSTOWN -- Guitarist Eric Hamilton will draw from his musical inspirations -- including fellow guitarist Mason Williams of "Classical Gas" fame -- in an eclectic program at 7:30 p.m. June 6 at Victorian Players Theatre, 702 Mahoning Ave. Admission is $15. Hamilton first performed publicly in 1971 with the Youngstown Symphony Youth Orchestra. Since then, he has toured North America and completed solo recordings, the first of which was "Music From the Great Hall" in 1999.
Butler artworks abroad
YOUNGSTOWN -- "Pennsylvania Coal Town," a 1947 oil painting by Edward Hopper that is part of the Butler Institute of American Art's collection, has been loaned to Tate Modern in London, England. The first British exhibit of Hopper's work in 20 years opens next Thursday at the Tate, which is opening a new gallery. The Tate houses a collection of five centuries of British art as well as international modern art.
Butler Institute also has 39 various paintings on loan to Midwest Museum of Art in Elkhart, Ind.
Breakfast and patriotism
CORTLAND -- George Kalbouss won't just sing patriotic tunes, he'll share the history of them in a "Breakfast on the Lake" program at 10 a.m. next Thursday at Lake Vista of Cortland retirement community, state Route 46. Kalbouss is professor of Russian literature at Ohio State University. A light continental breakfast will be served. Admission is free, but reservations are required. Call (330) 638-2420 by Tuesday.
