SOAP SCOOP | Daytime TV news
SOAPNET WELCOMES THE EMMYS: With the Daytime Emmy Awards set to air Friday on NBC, SoapNet has a full week of special programming in store, culminating in a live, 90-minute special on Emmy night. The preview show will feature Linda Dano (Ex-Rae, "One Life to Live") as fashion correspondent, while Alison Sweeney (Sami, "Days of Our Lives") and Walt Willey (Jack, "All My Children") interview their colleagues as they walk the red carpet. "Soap Talk" will present Emmy-themed shows each night this week, including profiles of "OLTL's" Kathy Brier (Marcie) and "As the World Turns'" hot newcomer Agim Kaba (Aaron).
REVOLVING DOOR: The casting wheel turns again at "Young and Restless," where Owen Beckman, who was recast as Daniel only a short time ago, has now been dropped from the part. The role is considered important, so expect a new actor to play Daniel before long. Meanwhile, as the character of Kevin takes on new dimensions, moving him away from his stalker beginnings, actor Greg Rikaart has signed a multi-year deal to stay with "Y & amp;R."
"B & amp;B" NEWS: Tracy Bregman makes one of her periodic crossovers from "Young and Restless" to "Bold and Beautiful" as Lauren for two more episodes today and Wednesday. In other "B & amp;B" news, there hasn't been much on the table for Bridget in recent months, so actress Emily Harrison has been downshifted to recurring status.
AMBASSADOR: Andrea Evans (Rebecca, "Passions") is again celebrity ambassador for City of Hope's Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer, an event she's been involved with since 2000. On May 27, the dress Andrea wore when Rebecca married Julian will be auctioned off during the Harbor of Hope Dinner cruise in Marina Del Rey, Calif. To view the dress, log onto www.nbc.com/passions. For more information about the event, call (213) 202-5735, Ext. 26347.
