Fugitive from Puerto Rico arrested in Campbell

CAMPBELL -- Jose Carrion-Rivera, who is under indictment with 11 others in a drug case in Puerto Rico, was tracked to a Jean Street house and arrested Monday by the city police and members of the U.S. marshals' and Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes task forces.
Carrion-Rivera, 27, of Puerto Rico, will be flown back after appearing before a federal magistrate, said Deputy U.S. Marshal Dean Michael.
Michael said the indictment represents a significant drug case that involved cocaine, heroin and marijuana. The deputy marshal said they received information Carrion-Rivera's wife was visiting at the Jean Street home and tracked him there.
Carrion-Rivera, one of seven suspects in the group who fled Puerto Rico, was on Puerto Rico's list of seven most-wanted fugitives. U.S. Marshals and Puerto Rican police had formed a task force to locate the seven.
Police said they found no drugs or weapons on Carrion-Rivera when they arrested him and that he offered no resistance.
