Avril Lavigne says changein diet helped her attitude
LOS ANGELES -- OK, our obsession with carbohydrates has officially gotten out of control: Avril Lavigne said the lyrics to her songs were so angry because she was eating too many carbs, reports MSNBC.com.
The "Complicated" singer is out promoting her new album, "Under My Skin," and has given this reason for her former angst.
"I was eating bad stuff," Lavigne said. "Lots of sugar and carbs, junk food all the time. It makes you very irritated. I spent some time with a nutritionist and learned I had low blood sugar. Now I eat accordingly."
It would seem that the lack of carbs is now going to Lavigne's head.
"I have always known I was going to be a star," she said. "I knew this was my destiny, so things have fallen into place."
Lavigne dismissed rumors that she's dating Justin Timberlake and is commenting on those evenings she's been spending with shock rocker Marilyn Manson -- though she denies they're romantically involved.
"When we're in the same city we get together and he's so cool," Lavigne said. "One time, we hung out in his room and watched movies. I went to his show a couple of times and we hung out on the tour bus after. When we're together it's really cool because we just sit there and totally talk. It's so healthy when I can sit down and talk to another artist who's doing what I'm doing."
Stallone sues MGMover 'Rocky' revival
LOS ANGELES -- Sylvester Stallone is hopping in the ring with MGM.
The "Rocky" star filed a lawsuit against the studio and a production company, alleging that he was blocked in his efforts to revive the boxing flick for a sixth installment and to develop a Broadway musical based on the franchise, reports E!Online.
The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeks unspecified damages from MGM and Chartoff Productions and seeks an order allowing Stallone to continue on his quest to make "Rocky VI."
Stallone claimed he had reached an agreement with MGM to revisit "Rocky" but that it fell through after a producer allegedly insisted that his son helm the film.
The "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot" star further said he talked to the studio about developing a musical oeuvre based on the "Rocky" films and co-written by him, but claimed he balked when MGM wanted to keep an unacceptable share of the profits. The studio later allegedly claimed that it would develop musicals based on the franchise.
Stallone further accused both the studio and the production company of pulling out of the "Rocky" ventures when they learned of his plans to co-produce and star in a Mark Burnett-produced reality show called "The Contender" for NBC.
The show, due to premiere in January, will feature amateur boxers training, fighting and competing for a $1 million prize and the opportunity to become a pro prize fighter.
Stallone claimed in his suit that MGM struck back at him by creating a similarly themed show, titled "The Real Rocky." However, the studio claims the project has been in the works for a year.
A MGM spokeswoman shrugged off the lawsuit, claiming it lacked merit.
