Twins 9, Blue Jays 5
TORONTO -- Jacque Jones hit a tie-breaking home run in the ninth inning for Minnesota. Lew Ford and Torii Hunter also homered for the Twins, who have won six of seven. After Hunter led off the ninth with a double, Jones hit a 1-1 pitch off Micheal Nakamura (0-2). Jones' seventh homer gave the Twins a 7-5 lead. Michael Cuddyer later scored on catcher Kevin Cash's error, and Cristian Guzman added an RBI single to make it 9-5. Juan Rincon (6-2) pitched 1 2/3 innings for the win. Aaron Fultz came on to record the final out for his first save of the season. Frank Menechino went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs for the Blue Jays, who have lost five of seven. Minnesota left fielder Shannon Stewart returned to Toronto for the first time since being traded by the Blue Jays to the Twins last July. He went 1-for-4, and received no reaction from the announced crowd of 13,502 upon being introduced during his first plate appearance. Toronto designated hitter Simon Pond singled in the seventh for his first major league hit. Pond, a Canadian, started 0-for-13 this season.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Rockies 7, Phillies 6
DENVER -- Vinny Castilla hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning and Colorado rallied from a six-run deficit. Down 6-0 after three innings, the Rockies scored five times in the seventh with homers by Matt Holliday and Charles Johnson. Then in the ninth, Todd Helton drew a leadoff walk on four pitches from Tim Worrell (0-1). Castilla followed with his 10th homer, a drive that barely cleared the left-field wall. Castilla finished with three hits and three RBIs. Brian Fuentes (1-0) got the win. Mike Lieberthal and Chase Utley each drove in three runs for the Phillies. The Rockies beat Philadelphia by the same 7-6 score Sunday.
