The city's board of control handled these items Friday:
Accepted preliminary designs for the proposed downtown convocation center.
Approved a development agreement with Superior Chemical Products Co. The company is relocating its 14 workers from its Hubbard Road site to the Ohio Works Industrial Park and plans to invest $900,000 in a new facility.
Approved severance of $918 for Rose Griffin, a social worker in the police department who resigned March 19.
Applied for a $180,928 loan from the Ohio Water Development Authority to pay for relocating a 16-inch waterline on state Route 46 between Silica and Webb roads in Austintown.
Applied for a $1.2 million loan from the Ohio Water Development Authority to pay for a new water tank on Kirk Road in Austintown.
Approved an agreement with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the Ohio Water Development Authority for a $3.42 million loan for a project to eliminate sewer overflows into Mill Creek.
Made payment of $3,104 to Marucci & amp; Gaffney, Youngstown, for the emergency cleaning of a creek off Poland Avenue.
Made payment of $2,584 to L.E.C. of Youngstown for cleaning of a water course off Youngstown-Hubbard Road.
Made payment of $5,566 to K.T. Lyden Construction, Youngstown, for emergency repair of a catch basin and storm sewer line at 2813 Rexford Road.
Made payment of $3,027 to Marucci & amp; Gaffney, Youngstown, for emergency repair of a catch basin on Tod Lane near Logan Avenue.
Approved a $7,500 surety bond for William Murrell of Chameleon Painting and Restoration Inc., Youngstown.
Approved a $3,000 surety bond for Kevin Myers of Drywall & amp; Plastering, Youngstown.
