YMTA to present awards recital Sunday
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown Music Teachers Association will present a recital by winners of the May 8 Masters Piano Competition at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Bliss Hall, Youngstown State University.
The event is free and open to the public, and each winner performing will receive a $50 bond.
Teachers represented by the winners are Helen Cline, Joan Cosgrove, Lisa Czifra, Fanny DiDomenico, Sr. M. Germaine, Frank Tarantino and Diane Yazvac.
Those who will perform in various divisions are as follows:
UPre-A (Kindergarten through third grade): Lindsey Kirkham-Olsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Olsen and Thomas Kirkham of Boardman, and Myranda D'Apolito, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony D'Apolito of Poland.
UA (grades 4-6): Dominic DeLaurentis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dominic DeLaurentis of Canfield; Kristi Yazvac, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Yazvac of Boardman; and Daniel Catello, son of Diane Catello of Austintown.
UB (grades 7-9): Bethany Shearer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Shearer of Wampum, Pa.; Sammy Borzi, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Borzi of Boardman; and Alex Chang, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Chang of Canfield.
UC (grades10-12): Timothy Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lee of Howland.
