SUV slams into car, killing three

CANTON (AP) -- A sport utility vehicle traveling on a state highway went left of center and slammed into a car, killing three people, including a husband and wife from Sebring, and injuring two others, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Makeebrah Turner, 35, of Warrensville Heights, was traveling south on state Route 183 Friday night when his SUV went left of center and collided with a car driven by Arthur Rhome, 69, of Alliance, the patrol said. The accident happened about 15 miles east of Canton.
Turner's SUV went off the west side of the road and turned onto its side. Rhome's car went off the east side of the road and stopped in a yard.
Rhome and two passengers in his car were killed, Phyllis Fortunato Burton, 80, and her husband, Richard W. Burton Sr., 83, both of Sebring.
Another passenger, Patricia Ruhl Rhome, 64, also of Alliance, was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Canton on Saturday, according to a nursing supervisor. The hospital would not release her condition.
Turner was in stable condition at Aultman Hospital.
