She scattered three hits and struck out a career-high 12.
POLAND -- Senior Mallory Conger struck out a career-high 12 batters Friday to lead the Poland High softball team to a 2-0 victory over Alliance in a Metro Athletic Conference game.
Conger allowed just three hits and no walks while improving her record to 16-3.
Britt Davis singled twice and scored both runs for the Bulldogs (20-5, 11-1), while Krista Ginnetti added two hits, one of which was an RBI double.
Howland 4, Salem 2
SALEM -- Rachel Albani and Abbey Bacak each tripled for Howland.
Sam Yeager had a double and a triple for Salem (2-20), while Krystal Finley had a double and two RBIs.
Girard 2, LaBrae 1
LEAVITTSBURG -- Angela DiPiero and Aly Moliterno had RBI singles, while Nicole Melfi pitched a five-hitter to key Girard (9-18, 3-10) in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game. Amanda Hall had two singles for LaBrae.
Crestview 3, East Palestine 0
EAST FAIRFIELD -- Crestview pitcher Jess Sferra recorded her seventh shutout of the season and her 15th victory, holding East Palestine to one hit in a Tri-County League game.
Lisa Workman had a single and an RBI for the Clippers.

CANAL FULTON -- Northwest's Amanda Simons held West Branch to three hits in a Northeastern Buckeye Conference game. West Branch is 11-14, 3-10.
Baseball
NORTH JACKSON -- Zack Kosa and Matt Shields had two hits apiece Thursday to lead Jackson-Milton to a 13-3 victory over Lowellville.
Winning pitcher Zack Tomaino (3-3) struck out seven batters. Tim Shaw stole five bases.
Mathews 9, Pymatuning Valley 0
ANDOVER -- Matt Weymer pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks, and also contributed two singles and two RBIs, to lead Mathews in a Northeastern Athletic Conference game.
Ben Mackall had a double, two singles and one RBI and Kevin Forsythe two RBIs to also pace Mathews (11-9, 8-6).
Ledgemont 4, Yo. Christian 2
THOMPSON -- Mark Pecchia had a double for Youngstown Christian (7-4). Ledgemont is 3-14.
West Branch 10, Akron Springfield 5
AKRON -- John Wallace had three hits, including a triple and a double, and three RBIs for the Warriors (13-7, 6-7). Steve Hilliard added two hits and two RBIs. Springfield is 11-14, 6-6.
