Mr. and Mrs. Bass celebrating 50th on Las Vegas trip



XCANFIELD -- Mr. and Mrs. George W. Bass, 3659 Tyler Drive, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary during a trip this month to Las Vegas, where their children and other family members will celebrate with them.
The former Marilyn Turner and Mr. Bass exchanged marriage vows May 15, 1954, at the Chapel of the Friendly Bells in Youngstown.
The honorees' children and spouses are William Bass of Naperville, Ill.; Scott and Kathy Bass of Sheboygan, Wis.; Tod and Laura Bass of Vestavia Hills, Ala.; and Lynn and Vance McLennan of Canfield.
Retiring in 1983, Mr. Bass was a supervisor at U.S. Steel Co., Ohio Works, Youngstown. He graduated from the University of Missouri, where he studied engineering and served in the U.S. Marines. Mr. Bass is a member of the Saxon Club, and Saxon and Camens golf leagues.
Mrs. Bass, a homemaker, is a member of the Saxon Club and Mill Creek Applewood Ladies Golf League.
The family circle also includes eight grandchildren.
