BOXING 34 bouts scheduled in K.O. Drugs event

Boxers suffering their second loss will be eliminated.
HUBBARD -- There will be 34 bouts in the fourth night of the K.O. Drugs High School Boxing Tournament Tuesday at Hubbard High.
The bouts will be a mixture of the winners from week two and some of the losers from week two and three, with elimination coming to the boxers who will hit the two-loss mark.
The night will also feature female competitors. Topping that list will be Joanna Button from Boardman, who was the lightweight champion last year.
There will be 26 schools represented Tuesday, with Canfield and West Middlesex leading the way with seven participants each.
Two young men to keep an eye on are upperclass division fighters Brandon Breitenstine from Barberton and Mike Harrison from Champion.
Breitenstine is a junior welterweight who showed more ring moves than a lot of guys who get paid to fight.
Harrison threw rapid fire punches like he has been doing it for some time, and Tuesday, in a super middleweight bout, he will be tested by Emanuel Tiliakis from Campbell.
If Harrison gets by him he could face another Red Devil in the following week's semifinals, a very strong puncher, Jake Guriceo.

Some standouts this week in the underclass fights will be Canfield featherweight Kyle Kunkle, who is 2-0 and has looked good in both wins.
Then there is a battle of undefeated boxers in middleweights John Pitzulo from Canfield and Tod Miller from West Middlesex.
Also, Kyle Banna from Canfield battles Casey Denz from West Middlesex in an underclass heavyweight bout that could be one of the night's best.
The upperclass division has two bouts with undefeated fighters. Super middleweights George Swauger from Fitch and Greg Direnzo from Campbell will square off, and there is a super heavyweight slugfest between Derek Wagner from Warren Harding and Josh Fette from West Middlesex.
The doors will open at 6 p.m. with the first fight scheduled for 7. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
