Sharon officials propose meetings
SHARON, Pa. -- The city's two newest councilmen want to have some neighborhood meetings to get in touch with their constituents.
Councilmen Victor Heutsche and Darin Flower, appointed earlier this year to fill vacancies caused by the deaths of Councilmen Lou Rotunno and George Gulla, made the proposal at a council work session this week.
"We'd like to go to the neighborhoods," Heutsche said, noting that informal meetings could be held this summer in the West Hill and North Sharon areas, Musser School and other places.
It would be a good way to get in touch with the people and to hear their concerns and problems, Heutsche said.
All council members expressed interest in the idea and Heutsche asked Mayor David O. Ryan to attend the sessions as well and to bring department heads with him. Ryan said he would attend if invited.
Fred Hoffman, council president, advised Heutsche and Flower to come up with some possible dates for the meetings and bring them back to council.
