Brothers take over helm at Jamestown Paint



JAMESTOWN, Pa. -- Two brothers have bought out the ownership interests of other family members at Jamestown Paint.
Joseph P. Walton and D. Michael Walton now are co-owners of the company, which makes industrial paints and coatings. It employs 50 in Jamestown and 10 in Columbus.
Joseph P. Walton is company chief executive and his brother is president.
They bought out the ownership interests of Richard A. Walton, who had been chief executive, and Richard R. Walton, who had been executive vice president. Richard A. is their uncle and Richard R. is their cousin.
Joseph M. Walton, father of the owners, also has been named chairman of the board. He had been a member of the board.
In other moves, Jan Smith was promoted to vice president of research and development, and Bradley Hamm was promoted to vice president of operations. Joseph D. Walton was named vice president of sales, while Michael P. Walton was promoted to vice president of marketing.
Victor Hugo Von Ehrhart started the company in 1885, and it remained in his family until Joseph F. Walton bought it in 1946. When he died in 1951, his son, Joseph M. Walton, took over.
