Adam Sandler stars as a son of Satan, involved in a competition of sorts over who will succeed the old devil. Sandler fans may find some laughs in "Little Nicky" (8 p.m., Fox), a 2000 movie that's making its broadcast debut; others beware. With Patricia Arquette, Harvey Keitel and Rodney Dangerfield.
"A Bug's Life" (8 and 9:50 p.m., Disney) is Walt Disney Pictures' 1998 collaboration with Pixar Animation Studios. This animated adventure tells the story of Flik, a misfit ant with an inventive nature. The heavies here are vicious grasshoppers who extort an oppressively heavy "tribute" (i.e., bug food) from the ant colony in exchange for its continued safety. When that tribute becomes unrealistically high, Flik sets off into the great world beyond to round up reinforcements. But instead of warriors, he comes back with circus bugs, including a friendly black-widow spider, a male ladybug and a walking stick with stand-up comedy aspirations.
The setting for the season finale of "Hope & amp; Faith" (9 p.m., ABC) is the Daytime Emmy Awards, and Faith (Kelly Ripa) is joined by a host of soap opera stars, including Ripa's "All My Children" colleagues Rebecca Budig and Susan Lucci, Eric Braeden of "The Young and the Restless," and Susan Flannery of "The Bold and the Beautiful."
