VETERANS Store and group to honor military
CANFIELD -- The public is invited when Harley-Davidson of Youngstown and the Paladin Knights, formerly the Rolling Thunder Chapter 4 veterans organization, hold their second annual Armed Forces Day celebration.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the motorcycle store, 4478 Boardman-Canfield Road.
State Rep. John Boccieri, D-61st, of New Middletown, a captain who flies C-130 cargo planes in the Air Force Reserve's 910th Airlift Wing in Vienna, will talk about his recent tour of duty in the Middle East.
A flyover of two F-16 fighter planes out of The Toledo Air National Guard unit is scheduled. There will be a display of modern and World War II military vehicles, and local military personnel and veterans groups will be in attendance, according to Bill McCullough, parts manager at Harley-Davidson.
The first 300 attendees will receive a small American flag. After the opening ceremony, which will feature Harley-Davidson employee Tammy Nolder singing the National Anthem, there will be a cookout. Call McCullough at (330) 702-1010.
