You're in a quandary whether to buy the DVD version of your favorite movie with the bonus disc that has all sorts of additional features -- bloopers, deleted scenes, extra interviews.
The FX network's showing of "DVD on TV" can help you decide whether that sort of material is worth the extra bucks.
"DVD on TV," hosted by Dave Holmes and Jennifer Lothrop, airs on Wednesday evenings with encore showings on the weekends.
Showtimes vary from week to week; this Wednesday "Die Hard" will be shown at 6:30 p.m.
FX, like most networks, gets its movies about three years after the theatrical release, so the movies shown are older or classic films.
However, the bonus features -- highlighted before and after commercial breaks -- offer a glimpse of some of the extras the DVDs offer. It also gives TV watchers a different take on a movie they might have seen before, either on television or in the theater.
Chuck Saftler, senior vice president of programming for FX, said, "We show our movies multiple times. 'DVD on TV' is a way for us to present a movie in a fresh way so viewers have a unique viewing experience each time they see it."
