3 types of surrogacy
Three main types of surrogacy that couples can pursue:
Traditional surrogacy: This type of surrogacy is done using the intended father's sperm and the surrogate's eggs. The surrogate would give up parental rights before the birth.
Gestational surrogacy: When a woman is not able to carry a pregnancy but produces eggs, her eggs are fertilized with her husband's sperm and implanted in the surrogate.
Gestational surrogacy using a donor: If the intended mother cannot carry or provide eggs, her husband's sperm is used to fertilize an egg from an anonymous donor which is then implanted into a surrogate.
