XThe 16th annual Summer Arts and Crafts Bazaar is planned by Salem Memorial Building Association from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 26 at Centennial Park, East Pershing Street, Salem. Table rental is $25. There also will be a Chinese auction and lunch. Proceeds from rentals will benefit Salem Memorial Building and proceeds from the lunch counter will go to Columbiana County Office on Aging. AUCTIONS
XGolden String's, a non-profit organization, will present a benefit "Summer in the City" art show and auction from 7 to 9 p.m. May 15 at the Ohio One Corp. BOOK SALES

XCopeland Oaks Retirement Community, 800 S. 15th St., Sebring, will hold a book sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Hard- and soft-cover books, magazines, audio books and videos will be sold. Proceeds will benefit the Copeland Oaks library.
CARD PARTIES/BINGO
XThe Ladies Altar Society of St. Mark Orthodox Church will sponsor a card party at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church center, 3560 Logan Way, Liberty. XMahoning Valley Italian-American Festival is accepting applications until May 22 from contestants of Italian descent, interested in being named Miss Italian, or Petite Miss Italian at the festival to be held June 10-13 at Eastwood Field. FUND-RAISERS
XThe Animal Welfare League will hold a Walk for the Animals Sunday at Packard Park Shelter House, Mahoning Avenue, Warren. Registration at 1:30 p.m. will be followed at 2:30 by the Blessing of the Animals and the walk immediately afterward. Prizes will be awarded the 10 top money raisers and for the most unusual pet. XBrookfield Optimist Club and Outback Steakhouse of Niles will hold a steak fry and $1,000 reverse raffle May 19 at Brookfield Fire Hall. Dinner starts at 7 p.m. and will feature sirloin steak, potatoes, appetizers, dessert, and beverage. XThe Scottish Rite Consistory, 110 E. XMahoning County Career and Technical Center's horticulture department is sponsoring a spring plant and flower sale during May at its greenhouse, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, Canfield.
