YOUNGSTOWN Senior Olympics to start in June



YOUNGSTOWN -- The 2004 Senior Olympics of Northeast Ohio begins June 2 with the May 17 deadline for registration quickly approaching.
Events will include archery, bowling, horseshoes, track and field and golf (Putt-Putt and Par 3).
Senior Olympics is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and a picnic at Boardman Park is planned to mark the occasion. Pre-registration is required for both the picnic and the athletic events.
Senior Olympics is open to men and women ages 50 and older. Participation is not limited to Ohio residents. Athletes compete against others of their own age, for gold (first place), silver (second place) and bronze (third place) medals. Medals are awarded separately for men and women. Registration is $5 each and each competitor gets a souvenir T-shirt when they register.
