Barbershop singing shows
WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. -- Stroll back to the 1950s with the Penn-Ohio Singers and friends during the group's 23rd annual barbershop shows at 2 and 8 p.m. May 22 in West Middlesex High School Auditorium, Route 18 South.
Guests will be You Bet! from Cincinnati and Columbus, silver medalists at the Johnny Appleseed District competition in 2003; and Hot Air Buffoons, from the Shenango, Maumee and North Coast chapters, whose members were named comedy quartet champions at the Buckeye Invitational in 2003. Pupils from West Middlesex, Cardinal Mooney and Sharon high schools and Poland Middle School also will perform.
Matinee tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under. Evening show tickets are $12. Call (724) 336-6696.
Dance program auditions
PITTSBURGH -- Scholarship auditions for Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera's "Camp Broadway" will be May 20 by appointment at CLO Academy of Musical Theatre, Penn Avenue Place, 130 CLO Academy Way, eighth floor. Pupils ages 10 through high school seniors are eligible for this two-week professional-quality dance program with extra sessions in voice and acting. Call (412) 281-2234.
Exhibition of artworks
BOARDMAN -- Pastels and other artworks by Jeff Puccini will be displayed from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at Barshelli Biscotti Co., 1393 Boardman-Canfield Road. In addition, there will be live music by Peege.
'Mamma Mia!' returns
CLEVELAND -- The musical "Mamma Mia!" will return to State Theater this summer. The show was inspired by the music of Swedish pop group ABBA. Shows will be from June 29 to July 11. Call Tickets.com for tickets.
