SEATTLE -- Randy Winn scored on Scott Spiezio's fielder's choice with none out in the 16th inning to give Seattle a win in the longest game in the major leagues this season. Winn scored the winning run when Spiezio hit a grounder to drawn-in first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz, whose throw to catcher Henry Blanco was too late to get a sliding Winn.
Orioles 10, White Sox 3
BALTIMORE -- Brian Roberts had three hits, tied a team record with four steals and scored four runs as Baltimore ended a three-game losing streak. Miguel Tejada got his 1000th career hit and drove in three runs for the Orioles, who had lost six of eight.
Blue Jays 5, Royals 4
TORONTO -- The Blue Jays improved to 2-9 at home, staking Pat Hentgen (1-2) to a 5-0 lead. Hentgen allowing four runs and six hits in five innings. Micheal Nakamura followed with three perfect innings, and Jason Frasor finished with a one-hit ninth for his first major league save.
Devil Rays 5, Rangers 4
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Tino Martinez's second homer of the game, a drive off former Yankees teammate Jeff Nelson (0-2), broke a ninth-inning tie and stopped the Rangers' five-game winning streak. Geoff Blum also had two homers for the Devil Rays, who had lost nine of 11. Julio Lugo added a homer for Tampa Bay.
Yankees 10, Athletics 8
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Alex Rodriguez hit his 350th homer and Ruben Sierra had a three-run double in a six-run seventh inning, sending New York to its seventh straight victory. The Yankees rallied from a 7-1 deficit and spoiled a strong offensive night by the Athletics, who got two home runs from Eric Chavez and one by Scott Hatteberg. New York tied Boston for first place in the AL East, making up 41/2 games since getting swept at home by the Red Sox from April 23-25.
Angels 11, Tigers 4
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Bengie Molina and Jose Guillen each homered and drove in three runs. Troy Glaus also connected for the Angels, who have won 10 of 12 overall and 18 of their last 20 meetings with Detroit. Vladimir Guerrero had two RBIs. Jarrod Washburn (5-1) won his fourth straight start despite giving up home runs to Ivan Rodriguez, Rondell White and Carlos Pena. The left-hander went 62/3 innings.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Cardinals 6, Phillies 5
PHILADELPHIA -- Mike Matheny saved St. Louis with a super play behind the plate. With the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth, Jason Isringhausen struck out Pat Burrell swinging at a high fastball. The ball deflected off Matheny's glove all the way to the backstop, but the two-time Gold Glove chased it down. With no play at the plate, he fired a long throw to first, getting Burrell by a half-step.
Mets 6, Giants 2
NEW YORK -- Steve Trachsel (3-3) held down a lineup missing Barry Bonds, sidelined by a sinus infection, allowing two runs -- one earned -- and five hits in eight innings.
Expos 10, Rockies 4
MONTREAL -- Terrmel Sledge hit his first career homer, Endy Chavez had a three-run shot and Jose Vidro also connected for Montreal, which beat Jason Jennings (1-4) to win consecutive games for just the second time this year.
Braves 4, Padres 2
ATLANTA -- Russ Ortiz (3-3) allowed one run and four hits in 61/3 innings, and Damon Hollins had a career-high three RBIs as the Braves returned following a two-week road trip, their longest this season. Chris Reitsma and John Smoltz each pitched an inning, with Smoltz working the ninth for his fourth save.

CHICAGO -- Steve Sparks (2-1) got his first victory as a starter since Aug. 16, 2002, holding Chicago scoreless until Sammy Sosa's three-run homer in the eighth.

CINCINNATI -- Lyle Overbay fouled off four two-strike pitches before hitting his first career grand slam in a six-run third against Jimmy Haynes (0-3). Victor Santos (1-0) allowed one hit in five innings to get his first victory since July 18, 2001.
Dodgers 4, Marlins 3
MIAMI -- Adrian Beltre hit a tying single with two outs in the ninth, then singled off Justin Wayne (2-1) in the 11th and scored when pinch-hitter Olmedo Saenz's grounder went through Mike Mordecai's legs at third base for an error.
