SUMMER ACTIVITIES Borough announces pool schedule
Children who live outside the district can take swim lessons for $30 per child.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The borough pool will open May 29.
Borough council member Susan Ligo announced that the pool will be open May 29 and 31 from noon to 8 p.m., May 30 from 1 to 8 p.m., and June 1 from 4:30 to 8 p.m.
The pool will be closed June 2 and 3 because of high school graduation.
From June 4 to Sept. 6, the pool will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 to 8 p.m. Sundays. Adult swim is from noon to 1 p.m. and 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Lessons and classes
Ligo also announced that this year, children who live outside the New Wilmington School District can take swim lessons for $30 per child. They will no longer have to buy a $125 family pass to be eligible for the lessons. Residents will pay $10 per child or $15 per family for lessons.
Two sessions have been set for swimming lessons, June 21-July 2 and July 19-30. If the first two sessions fill up, a third will be Aug. 9-20. Sign-ups for lessons are from 6 to 8 p.m. May 14 and 19. Nonresidents can sign up from 6 to 8 p.m. May 20 and, if any space is available, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 26.
All sign-ups will be at the borough office, 134 High St.
In addition, a lifeguard class will be from June 7 to 11 at a cost of $100. The class will be held only if at least 10 people sign up.
A new class, Aqua Kinetics, has also been added for water exercise for people of all ages from 11 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
