Charges in Texas against Patric dropped

Charges in Texasagainst Patric dropped
AUSTIN, Texas -- Both charges against actor Jason Patric have been dropped after his arrest in March.
Travis County Attorney David Escamilla said his office decided not to pursue the resisting-arrest charge after reviewing evidence and determining that Patric's actions didn't constitute resisting arrest under Texas law.
"Merely retracting your arm or some other similar uncooperative action won't suffice to support a conviction," Escamilla told the Austin American-Statesman over the weekend.
The city attorney's office also dropped a public intoxication charge against Patric last week from the same arrest, so no charges are pending against the actor.
"Mr. Patric is extremely pleased and feels vindicated. He is now consulting with legal counsel to consider his next step regarding his arrest, imprisonment and treatment at the hands of the Austin Police Department," Patric's publicist Michelle Bega said Monday.
John Lennon's son datesMick Jagger's daughter
NEW YORK -- Two of rock royalty's most famous offspring have apparently fallen for each other, reports Hello! magazine.
Former Beatle John Lennon's indie-rocker son Sean and 20-year-old model Elizabeth Jagger, daughter of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, are currently an item -- and the romance has been confirmed by Elizabeth's mother, Jerry Hall.
"They are so in love," said Hall of the couple, who recently spent time at the Texan model's Richmond home. "We had all these incredible family sing-songs with him around the piano. Sean is adorable. He looks so like John now and he writes beautiful poetry."
Past girlfriends of 28-year-old Lennon include actresses Bijou Phillips and Leelee Sobieski, while Jagger had been linked with actor Michael Wincott, 26 years her senior.
Priestley getting married
LOS ANGELES -- "Beverly Hills 90210" survivor Jason Priestley is marrying longtime girlfriend, makeup artist Naomi Lowde.
No wedding date yet for the 35-year-old actor-cum-race-car-driver and James Dean-wannabe, who luckily did not suffer Dean's fate: He has fully recovered from a nasty car accident Aug. 11, 2002, when his ride hit the wall going 180 mph during Kentucky Speedway practice for the Infinity Pro Series.
Radio station auctioningJoel's smashed grille
NEW YORK -- Proving the adage yet again that one man's trash is another's treasure, a New York radio station has collected the smashed front grille from Billy Joel's car wreck last month and is auctioning it off for charity, reports The Associated Press.
Joel suffered minor injuries when he lost control of his vintage 1967 Citroen on a rain-slicked road near his Long Island home April 25 and slammed into a house.
The singer-songwriter received a small cut on his left ring finger but refused medical attention. The wreck was the third in two years for Joel. Last year he was hospitalized after smashing his car into a tree along a highway on far eastern Long Island, and he escaped serious injury in a crash in East Hampton in June 2002.
WBLI morning show co-host Steve Harper said Monday that the grille is being offered on eBay, where it will remain until 12:45 p.m. Thursday. (Starting bid was $50; several dozen bidders later, it's over $400.)
The station's "Slam the Stunt Man" collected the debris off the street at the crash site, Harper said. A Nassau County police spokesman said Joel has not asked for the grille back, so there's no legal reason the station can't sell it.
A spokeswoman for Joel didn't immediately return a call for comment. Proceeds will go to Long Island charities, although Harper said station officials are still discussing the exact beneficiaries.
