About the group
Women Hand in Hand was organized to help black mothers pursue their dreams by providing scholarships for women who desire to attend college but lack the financial resources. Upon graduation, the participants are expected to encourage other women to work to improve their quality of life. Many provide help and offer encouragement by working in the school system as teachers and in the social-service system as family-service providers.
The club motto is, "With God all things are possible! We see, we believe, we do, and we lift as we climb; therefore you teach me and I'll teach you."
Since its conception in 1987, Women Hand in Hand has raised more than $100,000 to benefit mothers of the community.
