WKBN TV, Fox to joinClear Channel Radio
YOUNGSTOWN -- A cooperative agreement will bring together two media outlets that used to be owned by the same company.
Television stations WKBN TV-27 and Fox 17/62 said Friday that they will join with Clear Channel Radio to exchange reports on news, weather, sports and other information. Clear Channel owns 570 WKBN and other area radio stations.
As one part of the collaboration, Don Guthrie, chief meteorologist for WKBN TV, will provide weather reports for the radio stations.
The WKBN radio and TV outlets used to be owned by the Williamson family. Piedmont Communications now owns the TV stations.
New name for affiliate
BOWLING GREEN -- Sky Financial Group said its insurance affiliate, Meyer & amp; Eckenrode Insurance Group, will be renamed Sky Insurance, starting Monday. The insurance business has 100 employees in the Pennsylvania cities of Allison Park, Canonsburg and New Castle. Bowling Green-based Sky Financial is the parent company of Sky Bank.
