PREP SOFTBALL Springfield hands M. Ridge first ICL loss
Ashley Bleggi tossed a two-hitter to lead Canfield past Chaney.
MINERAL RIDGE -- Amanda Delvaux collected four hits including two doubles as the Springfield High softball team handed Mineral Ridge its first Inter-County League loss, 12-2, on Friday.
Danielle Dewitt and Carol Anne Semancik each had three hits for the Tigers (9-4, 7-2), who had 17 hits.
Katie Olive doubled for the Rams (10-3, 7-1).
Jackson-Milton 17, McDonald 2
NORTH JACKSON -- Shannon McGee was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs to lead Jackson-Milton in a five-inning game.
Audrey Robinson was 3-for-4 with a homer and scored three times for the Bluejays (11-9, 5-4 ICL).
McDonald is 0-10.
Canfield 4, Chaney 0
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ashley Bleggi (5-2) tossed a two-hitter for Canfield.
Elena Infante doubled for the Cardinals (11-6) while Danielle Spencer and Ashley Yager had two hits each.
For Chaney (6-7), Mary Wheland and Mary Sabo had hits.
Ursuline 16, Girard 1
YOUNGSTOWN -- Jenn Vrabel had two doubles and five RBIs to lead the Irish (16-3) in a six-inning game.
Brittani Shonce had a bases-loaded double and Courtney Davidson and Maureen Cearfoss each added two hits. Cearfoss (15-3) had nine strikeouts before giving way to Ashley Koval.
Kelsea Tondo-Kramer and Morgan Tondo each had two hits for Girard (5-13).
Hubbard 2, Lakeview 0
CORTLAND -- Amanda Taylor (11-3) fired a three-hit shutout for the Eagles (11-3, 8-2 Trumbull Athletic Conference).
Callie Oyler scored the winning run in the first inning when she singled and scored on Kelly Hudy's double.
Lynle Cornell tripled. Cornell, Hudy and Oyler each had two of Hubbard's eight hits.
For Lakeview (5-7, 4-6), Jen Baker, Lindsay Whetzel and Lauren Whetzel had hits.
