LIMELIGHT Awards, achievements



BROOKFIELD -- Robert P. Matteson, director of technology, product development and labs for The Taylor-Winfield Corp. in Brookfield, was awarded the Elihu Thomson Resistance Welding Award for his contributions to the technology and application of resistance welding. The award was presented by the Resistance Welders Manufacturers' Association at the American Welding Society convention in Chicago. A 37-year employee at Taylor-Winfield, Matteson is a longtime member of the RWMA and has served on its board of directors.
BERLIN CENTER -- The Ohio Trucking Association has named Albert L. Adams of Berlin Center as a 2003 Driver of the Year. The association recognizes 12 drivers each year on the basis of their years of service, accident and traffic-violation records, overall service to the community and acts of highway heroism.
Adams, 56, works for Roadway Express in North Lima and has driven more than 3 million miles without a chargeable traffic accident or moving violation. He also trains fellow workers in tandem trailer operations, hazardous material handling and defensive driving.
