YOUNGSTOWN -- Allen Cordingley's last performance here before joining the Glenn Miller Orchestra on tour will be noon Tuesday in the Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave. Admission is free.
Boardman band concert
BOARDMAN -- Boardman High School Band Department's spring concert will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in Boardman Performing Arts Center, 7777 Glenwood Ave. The Freshman, Concert and Symphonic bands will play. Soloist is Amber Kunder, on flute.
Mozart opera at YSU
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mozart's "Cos & igrave; fan Tutte" will be performed by Opera Circle at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Bliss Recital Hall at Youngstown State University. Dorota Sobieska, Melody Moore, Sharon Shaffer, Isaac Hurtado, Christopher Holes and Ray Liddle will sing. Jacek Sobieski will conduct. Tickets are $15, $5 for students; (330) 673-4110.
Benefit performance
BOARDMAN -- Move Over Broadway Productions will present "A Night on Broadway" as a benefit for its Terry Olinski Scholarship Fund at 8 p.m. May 8 in Southwoods Commons Auditorium, 7601 Market St. Admission is by donation. Call (330) 533-8789.
Boardman orchestra honor
BOARDMAN -- Boardman High School's Symphony, Chamber and Classical orchestras earned the Instrumental Grand Champion Trophy at the Fiesta-Val Music Competition on April 23 in Virginia Beach, Va. Combined scores were the best at the contest. The Symphony and Chamber orchestras received superior ratings, and the Classical Orchestra was rated excellent.
The orchestras will perform at 7 p.m. May 19 in Boardman Performing Arts Center, 7777 Glenwood Avenue. Soloists will be seniors Jenna Barvitski, Alexandra Fuentes and Jenna Diorio. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for students, free for preschoolers and senior citizens.
