WARREN -- Sister Mildred Ely, former president and chief executive of St. Joseph Health Center, has been elected chair of the Catholic Healthcare Partners Board of Trustees. CHP is based in Cincinnati and is the largest health care system in Ohio.
Sister Mildred had been vice chair of the CHP board since 1999 and was the Humility of Mary Health Partners representative to the organization since 1997. She was general treasurer and councilor of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary from 1993-2001.
Sister Mildred has a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and a master's degree in hospital and health care administration from St. Louis University in Missouri.
HERMITAGE, Pa., -- Three doctors, all specializing in internal medicine, have joined the medical staff at UPMC Horizon, a hospital of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Alfred J. Joseph, Dr. Mary C. Dougherty and Dr. Frances J. Pucharich, all MDs, are members of the Hermitage Internal Medicine Group.
Dr. Joseph graduated from Gannon University in Erie, Pa., earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and completed his internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic. He is an assistant clinical professor of internal medicine at the Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine.
Dr. Dougherty has a bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University, earned her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and completed her residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Dr. Pucharich graduated from West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at Kessler Medical Center at the Kessler Air Force Base in Mississippi. She served as director of the special care unit and staff internist at Langley Air Force Base in Va., achieving the rank of major.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
CANFIELD -- Shannon L. Ealy of Hubbard has joined the American Cancer Society as income development coordinator for the office serving Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana, Jefferson and Carroll counties. Ealy had previously been employed by Gateway Computers. Her responsibilities will include recruiting teams for the three Relay for Life fund-raising events in the region.

GIRARD -- Damien Sobnosky, principal agent and owner of Sobnosky Insurance Agency at 1601 Motor Inn Drive, has been appointed an Erie Insurance Group representative. A Girard resident, Sobnosky is the former co-owner of Frank's Pet Supply in downtown Girard. He has a bachelor's degree in political science from Youngstown State University.
