Grants available to help with water, sewer costs
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Residents in Mahoning and North Beaver townships may be eligible for grants or reimbursements for the cost of running water or sewer lines to their homes.
Consultant Linda Farris said Friday that Community Development Block Grants are available for low- and moderate income North Beaver residents who paid for lateral lines from the street to their homes in the recent sanitary sewer construction on Pa. Routes 108 and 551.
Mahoning residents who live in North Edinburg may also qualify for grants for the cost of bringing the recently completed waterline from the streets to their homes. The grants would also cover inside work to connect and associated costs.
Qualifying incomes range from $27,000 for a one-person household to $41,650 for a household of five.
For more information, residents should call their township offices. Mahoning residents can call (724) 667-8801 and North Beaver residents can call (724) 667-7956.
