Flower show winners are announced

YOUNGSTOWN -- Jean Davidson, Dorothy Haddox, Laura Smith, Elsie DeHoff, Evelyn Resek and Judy Smith served as judges for a flower show held by the Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area on April 17 and 18 at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park.
The winners
Blue ribbons in the design category were awarded to the following: Pearl Marlos, Silver Leaf; Grace Christopher, St. Edward; Resek, Mahoning; Mildred Campean, Gleaners; and DeHoff, Austintown. Marlos also received a Gold Seal in design.
Blue ribbons in horticulture went to: DeHoff, Mary Schall and Norma McMahon, Austintown; Marlos, Silver Leaf; Sheila Bowman, Salem; Haddox, Our Lady of Fatima; Charlene Flesch and Diane Mullins, Immaculate Heart of Mary; Rose Marie Roth, Daphne; Beverly Italiano, Nature Lovers; Martha Murphy, St. Edward; Davidson, Beverly Sharnek and Dorothy Fizet, Sweetbriar; Gordon Vujevic and Mary Macynski, members at large; Lynn Hoffman, Men's Garden Club; and Irene Parthemus, public. Gold Seals in the division were awarded to Marlos and Murphy.
