Roberts jubilee celebrated at dinner, reception



XORMOND BEACH, FLA. -- Mr. and Mrs. William Roberts, 1412 N. Beach St., formerly of Struthers, were joined by family members as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 7.
The festivities included a trip that day to Le Crepe En Haut where a private family dinner was held in their honor at 5:30 p.m. Afterward a reception was held for the couple at the home of the couple's daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Frank Salerno of Ormond Beach.
Also hosting the event were other members of their family, Dr. Gale Ann and Richard Harr of Silver Lake, and William Roberts of Pittsboro, N.C.. The family circle includes five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Married on Jan. 16, 1954, at the United Presbyterian Church in Struthers, the couple are members of Christ Presbyterian Church of Ormond Beach.
Mrs. Roberts, the former Marilyn Pratt was employed by Youngstown Hospital Association as assistant director of nursing and clinical coordinator of pediatrics at Todd Babies and Children's Hospital. After retiring in 1978, she owned and operated Bud-n-Blossom Floral Shop in Struthers until 1982.
Mr. Roberts served from 1951 to 1953 with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the superintendent of plumbing at Prout Boiler Inc. in Youngstown prior to retiring July 1, 1991.
